Compared with the neck butt welded flange, the flat welded flange has simple structure and less material, but the stiffness and sealing property are not as good as that of the neck butt welded flange. Flat welded flange is widely used in the connection of medium and low pressure vessels and pipelines.
The flat welded flange is suitable for the pipeline system where the pressure grade is relatively low and the pressure fluctuation, vibration and shock are not serious. The advantages of flat welded flange in the flat welded flange welding assembly is easier to align, and the price is cheaper, so it has been widely used.
